How NFT God has become real "NFT God" in 10 months
The story of going from 0 followers to 50,000 followers in 10 months and becoming a religious figure on Twitter
Who is NFT God?
NFT God is a widely respected Twitter professional talking about NFTs, investing, technology, and personal growth. He has amassed over 50,000 followers on Twitter and over 8,800 subscribers in his newsletter in 10 months.
Everything he talks about on Twitter goes viral. Even a tweet with some simple wisdom like this below:

This post dives deep into what makes him so special among many other Twitter accounts that fall into a similar category as him.
Was he popular from the beginning? Maybe it’s because of his MAYC profile image?
Not at all. He started with nothing. His tweet about purchasing MAYC got 3 likes and no retweets. Similar to Zeneca’s story, it’s a myth that your BAYC or MAYC profile picture will significantly boost your following (you can read Zeneca’s story here 😊).
No traction, but showing genuine interest in NFTs in public.
Not surprisingly, his early tweets had almost no traction. The important part is that he’s shown his interest and willingness to learn more about the industry in public.
The first inflection point: his Creepz NFT purchase
He tweeted about his Creepz purchase on January 7, 2022, around 0.3 ETH each. The tweet got 195 likes and 56 retweets. A huge boost in engagement compared to his early tweets.
The tweet above could’ve been a one-off boost in engagement, but NFT God kept talking about Creepz to invite its community members to follow him on Twitter.

Interestingly, two weeks after his purchase, the price of Creepz soared to 8.42 ETH at its peak. I don’t think NFT God did so-called an influencer play because he’s consistently shown a genuine interest in the project and his following was too small to affect people’s purchase decisions. In fact, he had shown his interest in Creepz till May, months after the hype bubble burst.
A smooth growth story after the first success? Nope. After posting hundreds of tweets, there was no sign of growth for two months.
NFT God posted hundreds of tweets during February and March, but his audience did not grow. One thing I noticed, though, was that his tweets' quality improved over time. He was one of the earliest individuals to talk about the NFT royalty issue, the hottest topic these days. His tweets had some good points but they just couldn’t reach a wider audience.

NFT God learned what’s working in April and May 2022
His tweet had a little better engagement than the last two months, but there were some types of tweets that generated much more traction than a regular tweet: talk about interesting NFT projects in detail. For example, he wrote about RTFKT and the tweet went viral.

Similarly, he talked about Degen Toonz, Creepz, and Kiwami in the tweet below. Note that he’s still supporting Creepz.

Even if there was no significant growth, he had earned around 4,500 followers by posting hundreds of tweets, finding out what was working, and doubling down on it.
Rise of NFT God in Late June and July 2022

NFT God decided to reach a greater NFT audience in late June and July. Leveraging his experience of researching numerous NFT projects and tweeting about them, he now talks about the overall NFT market, like the tweet below.

Without talking about other NFT projects, he’s got 1,000+ likes and 286 retweets. He stepped up, but this wasn’t even the beginning. Let’s look at his tweet below.

This is the moment he fully understands his audience and his Twitter play. He perfectly targets his audience, saves them time and money, and shares wisdom with them, so there is no reason not to engage with his tweets.
NFT God expands his reach in August 2022
NFT God was still evolving in August 2022. He’s now embracing non-Web3 individuals, too. Note that his tweets always help people achieve a few of the following:
save their time
gain important knowledge
save their money
get motivated

And the rest is history.
Here are key takeaways from NFT God’s success:
Don’t be afraid of sharing your thoughts in public. No one will care about you in the beginning and you can practice your writing and communication skills before growing your audience.
Fail forward and find out what kinds of tweets are working for your audience in the beginning. For NFT God, his continued support for the Creepz community and deep dive into other NFT projects gained some early followers.
Never give up and show up every day. Consistency is the key. NFT God posted hundreds of tweets that got almost no engagement and 48 threads that got under 20 likes from this January to June.
Understand that it’s about exponential growth. It takes time for your effort to compound enough to trigger substantial growth. It took NFT God almost 7 months for his account to finally take off. Take a look at the tweet below to learn more about exponential growth.
Have a small, intimate audience base and then expand. NFT God built relationships with communities from Creepz and other NFT projects. And his core audience helped him reach the greater NFT community, Web3 community, and even non-Web3 people.
Helping others is helping you in the long run. Every tweet from NFT God is about helping others. It helps you save time and money, learn something new, or become motivated. So why not engage with him?
Never ever underestimate your potential. Looking into NFT God’s success, I could see him grow in many aspects: his consistency, tweet quality, and strategy to reach more audiences. I don’t think he knew his potential in the beginning, but now he knows that he has a lot more value to add to his audience and the potential to add hundreds of thousands of followers.
