2022 has been a challenging year for most people and I can’t wait to get past it.
Disappointed with my performance this year, I told my girlfriend, “I have no idea what I’ve done this year. Maybe close to nothing“. And she told me the list of things I’ve done this year and I was pleasantly surprised that I’ve actually done some things this year.
So we did a recap on 2022 and I’m glad that we did it. Here’s why you’d also want to recap 2022.
1. To evaluate what went right/wrong and improve upon it.
Earlier this year, I spent a few months creating a DeFi 2.0 protocol by myself. I was naive and arrogant to think that I can do everything by myself, which I absolutely couldn’t, but also learned a lot about Solidity and React doing everything by myself.
I learned that I’m not the type of person who can run a multi-million dollar business as a solo founder, yet. When there’s an important problem to solve, my first step will not be to write the first line of code but to form a great, complementary team with high integrity. Like Pat Riley, the former head coach of the Miami Heat said:
Great teamwork is the only way we create the breakthroughs that define our careers.
What have you done right/wrong this year and what can you do to improve it?
2. To prioritize your goals next year.
As we grow older, the value of our time increases and becomes more precious, so it’s important to ruthlessly prioritize goals every year.
My team’s most important goals next year are:
Let more people know about the Hide Me, Please brand and what we offer.
Secure more NFT holders to form a bigger community.
Provide valuable online and offline content to our community members.
What’re your most important goals next year?
3. To come up with what to do next year to achieve goals
Once your goals become crystal clear, you can focus on planning what to do to achieve them. For us, it’s the following:
Open more Hide Me, Please branches and post more about us on SNS
Try different sub-projects and create content to add value to our community members.
What’s your to-do list to achieve your primary goals next year?
Life is full of uncertainties, but you’ll all create something, make mistakes, iterate upon them, and finally figure out what works for you. Let’s not forget what Mark Cuban said:
"It doesn't matter how many times you fail, you only have to be right once"
